I need to find a place in the Raleigh area of north carolina to get a tune up on my 85' Rx7. Id go to the mazda dealership but i dont feel like spending a huge fortune, if anyone knows a shop or somethin in the area it would be great appreciated

 

Do it yourself and save even more money. Autozone etc. have all the parts. Start with an oil change, replace the air filter, new plugs and wires, and a new fuel filter, replace the distributor cap and rotor button. Those things right there are the main parts of a tune up and are all easily done at home with very basic tools. If you need your carb. adjusted then you may need to go to a shop but do all of the other stuff I mentioned first.

A basic tune up is a great way to learn how to do simple things. Even if you're too afraid to mess up, I'm sure you know someone who can do it and show you how as well. You'll quickly learn that with basic maintenance you really can't mess up badly. I'd say a basic tune-up is not much more complicated than hooking up a VCR.

But anyway, you can post in the SE (south east) section of this forum and I'm sure you'll find someone who can either help you out or refer you to a shop.

 

Aye basic tuneups are really fool proof but be carefull all the same crossthreading sparkplugs or not getting the banjo fuel filter tightend just right can lead to complications my advice on the more advanced tuneing (timeing Fule mixture idle set) dont mess with unless you have good tools and some knowlage or info especaly with these wankel engines that have 2 timeing specs well most of them
