Is it true

Man, I think I got some information messed up. I thought I could use a gslse front cover and gslse oil pan on a 1993 13bt engine? A mechanic told me this info but now I am reading conflicting info. Could some body just lay down the law on this?
Thanks!

yeah, it is true. That is typically how people who swap 13b into 12a cars get the swap done.

well thats what I thought and then I read in another thread that the 9313btt has a different bolt pattern for the oil pan then the gslse oil pan.

you cannot use the 12a oil pan. the 12a is physically 20 mm shorter than the 13b.

You need to get a 13b oil pan from a gsl-se and then bolt it up. if the new engine is a 13bt then there is no mods required.

If it is a 13bTT then you will need to redrill a couple of the holes, but this will cause no problems just make sure you lay them out correctly prior to drilling. the original holes that you did not used fall on flat parts of the casting so there will be no leakage problems.
