Someone tried to steal my car and i think they fucked my ignition, now it wont even start. it wont even engage the dash lights. The ignition is bent open at the bottom, and then it looks like tey tride to turn it with a screwdriver. im just mad because now i cant get to school and i need to get a ******* job. i need help, please help me..... i dont know what to do, i dont know **** about ignitions.

thanks,
Alec

The other night, I discoverd if you accidently touch some special wires under there, it will fry a fuse and then the dash idiot lights dont work anymore...Maybe they shorted something out. Check your fuses, and also check your fusable links. Sorry to hear about that though. Hope nothings too messed up...

Sounds like they tried to punch the igntion lock out of the car... This is the typical way they steal cars, you should feel lucky, it could have been worse they could have stole the entire car.

Sounds like you need to sway the ignition cylinder, check the local pull it yards, maybe you can find a cylinder and a key.

After I installed the Grant removable steering wheel on my flashy blue ground effected shiny silver wheeled 81 GSL, NO ONE effed with that car ever again.

No wheel, no steal!

go to summit racing.com and search under 'grant remove'

Man I feel ya pain..

Someone tried to steal my 85 a while back when I first got it... I needed a new door lock barrell, they bent all my locking struts inside my door as well.

Don't know a lot about the Ignition man... might have to go see an auto electrican.. though as you said money sounds tight...

When you can, get an engine imob, as well as an alarm with window smash sensing and movement sensor... it's well worth it.. I have a Viper alarm black wired etc and it cost me about $350 to install... worth the peace of mind.
