Clutch is a swap, the tailshaft length between the 1st and 2nd gens are different. Check the TII tranny swap for that mod.

The tranny should fit without any issues, except the mount and shifter location. Both can be eliminated by swapping the tailshaft housing from the 85 trans. I have an 88 na tranny in my 83. It required a custom crossmember, and the shifter sits about 2" further back. Lets a lot of hot air into the car, as I haven't made the new floor plate to seal it out.
A TII tranny has many more fitment issues, and is not a cheap/quick swap.
