Transmission Bolt question

Hey guys. I'm trying to change the transmission oil on the RX7 I just bought, and I got the drain bolt out just fine. The fill bolt, however is stuck.
Any tricks on getting the fill bolt loose,
or failing that any other bolt I can remove so that I can add some oil to my transmission? If I can get oil in there I can just put in a measured amount, instead of going to the fill line.

I had this problem with my rear end. Turned out the previous owner had stripped it and welded it in.

big *** crescent wrench if it's the square type. Might be able to use a 12pt wrench (I think 16mm) and double wrench it.

You can try a pipe wrench if the plug is rounded off. If all else fails you can remove the shifter and pour the lube in there.

^I think that only works with the earlier cars ('79-'80). His profile says that he has a '83, so he has a remote shifter. I don't have anything to add with regards to getting the plug out. A lot of good suggestions have already been given. Good luck.

*laughs* pipe wrench!

I did try a big-*** crescent. No luck though. I've been searching for a 4-point socket from anywhere for the last several hours to no avail.

I might just try the pipe wrench idea.

Plug

Turn a 6 inch 3/8 or 1/2 extension backwards and slip it over the plug. Also hit the plug on the end with a hamer a few times before you start. LOL.
