Tranny swap!

No before you all yell at me, I did try searching :P

My question is simple, Is it easy to replace a transmission in a 85 FB 12A by dropping it out the bottom?
I've pulled many with the engine and all out the top, but a buddy told me it would probably be easier doing it from below.

Is this true, or more importantly, Possible?

And if anyones done it this way before, a few pointers would be handy.

Thanks guys!

Very easy.
No need to pull the engine for a trans job.Youd have to deal with the electrical, cooling, oil lines and everything else if you pulled the whole thing from above.

Dropping the tranny is much less work, you just have to get the car off the ground and secure first (jackstands)

Last trans swap took me an hour flat. That is with removing the slave cylinder from underneath because the beehive is in the way.
