tranny issue

i just put some new kuhmo tyres on and did some skids well i noticed a horible rattling scretching noise coming from the tranny a friend said the internal input bearings maybe gettin toast.

it only happens under heavey loads like skids
when i thrash the car when cruzeing the noise is not there.

it has new tob and pilot bearings


so any advice

is there rebuild kits i can get?

If you had a problem with the bearings the noise generally would be there all the time.
The bearing that usually fails before any is the input or countershaft bearing located at the front of the transmission.

Did you check and see if you had any loose heat shielding or anything else that would make noise?

Also when you state "Skids", Is that the term for burnouts or what? :-)

no its defintly not a lose heat shield or a driveshaft problem

yes skids = burnouts

From: Tulsa, Ok.
Could be the tailshaft bushing. Are you sure it's coming from the trans? Might have killed a pinion bearing in the diff.

i was pretty sure its the trans
i need to go do more skids and try determin it..

looks like theres 6 brearing in a fb tranny that could go wrong
