ok i got hoked up again today free 4.10 and se tranny i just want to clear this up i red some past threads and just want to make sure i have a 12a 84 and want to put an se tranny in there all i do is throw it in and go no mods no other parts except throwout bearing for se. im stopaked too b cuz the 5 th gear is taller so i get better highway gearing then our stock.

 

The T/o bearing is the same. Only difference is swithces and wiring on side of trans
i believe. The se's had a fifth gear swithc to activate the o'2 sensor for the fuel injection system. I belive the clutch fork is different on the se, i dont know if its
the pivot ball inside that it attaches to or a reference to the posistion of the
slave cylinder mounting that affects the angle that it comes out of. Someone else is going to have to answer that portion. rx7doctor

 

does anyone have any advice on doing this swap so it is quick and painless my tranny is making noises and the throwout bearing is going bad and wanted to throw this in there and see what the results are.

 

so not one rx7 owner on thhis forum has installled a gsl-se tranny into a 12a motor? oooh well looks like ill be the first to do a write up wish me luck.
