Trailing coil still dead

Ok I have no spark from the trailing coil. I have replaced the ingniter, replaced the coil, checked for power to the coil and there is I don't know much yet I will check that tomorrow.
Is there anything else I should check, My next step I guess would to go direct fire but I don't have the money for that right now.

Youve probably went through this however for sake of the forum lets start from the begining.

Crank over engine pull wire from coil- spark?
Crank over engine pull appropriate wire from top of dist cap, spark?

If coil spark is good and top of dist cap is good check plugs, if no spark at top of dist cap, change cap & rotor, if still no spark check air gap from dist rotor to pickup (dimension in haynes manual) If bad time for new distributor. Good luck and dont get shocked.

Just to be clear, you replaced the ignitor that's right up against the alternator, right? (you gotta swing the alt. up and out of the way to get at it) did you replace it with a known good one?

you could always try just swapping the ignitors leading for trailing, see if that makes a difference... it is possible that the pickup coil inside the distributor is fried but that is really rare. I've never had to change one, and looking inside the dizzy I don't see how one can be removed without a LOT of work.

Yes I replaced the igniter with a good one and I then swapted the old one with the lead igniter and it worked. I then pulled the cap and rotor off and cleaned it up. I have power going into the coil just nothing coming out. I am going to try and plug the trailing wire into the lead coil and vise versa and to see if I am getting spark.

OK sorry it took so long. I swapped wires and it ran but still nothing from the trailing coil.
I also checked both coils to see what the volts were and the leading was fine but nothing from the trailing. Which makes sence being I am getting no spark. I don't know what to check next.
I am working on getting the parts needed to do DLIDFIS, but I will have to figure this hole trailing coil problem first.

Go to the junkyard or autoplace and get another coil. Troubleshooting is over, youve pinpointed it to the coil, now change it.....

I am going tomorrow, also hope to find a couple more igniters.
I hope to have the direct fire done this weekend and maybe even a cold air setup.

I think I will keep mine. I just got back from the junk yard, got a couple of coils and a igniter so I am a little closer to DLIDFIS

Are you getting gas?
My car did that and my fuel pump relay was not working, so I put a jumper across and it started right up.

I bought an 85 gl with a 12a in no run cond. I traced to a bad circ in the fuel syst. Found that no power was getting to the pump and the pump had frozen and busted (water in lines) I spent a total of 100 US at JEGS hi po for a holley fp and wire and a relay. took an hour and half to build bracket for pump (stock location, custom plate steel bracket (welding required)) car ran like a top 431000 miles when oil press dropped to 5 psi at 8000 revs in road race FRIED!!!!
