todays projects..
nice work. been trying to find a steering wheel just like that. where u get it? wish my brown door panels were in as good a shape as those. would be interested in ur if not toooo expensive. as for helping ya, i'd love to but this weekend may already be booked up tho.
thanks it came with the car when i bought it... sorry... though it does have a mazda horn button... the guy i bought it from was the original owner... it even had an alarm system from the factory from 85, it died, and now is giving me all kinds of problems...one main one that i cant seem to fix is damn turn signals... even with the dash off and going through each wire making sure they all went to the right places and splices still remained connected.... eh!
As far as your question about the car not starting since the dash removal, double check your connections at the steering column. If you dropped the column down to install the dash, you might have pulled something loose.Looking good so far. When you get her done, you should swing up this way

ok so the problem ended up being the ignition switch.. so im putting in a new one... but intill then glue and a screw driver will work, i was going to put a push button start in instead but i just ran into so much hassle and a guy here on the forums sold me an ignition switch for a good price.. now i guess since i have disconected some wires and pull some stuff out iv lost the poewer in my cd player, and iv also lost my cig. lighter.... so those are todays projects re-wire the cd player, get the cig lighter working, and im changing out my rear bumper...
so since i got her running i decided to go ahead and finish the interior... i ran out of black carpet so in the rear near the bins i used some of the stock grey since it was in good shape.. as well as near the hatch... still need to put the cd player in... but i think its coming along pretty well...
bumper is on..(old bumper had a crack all the way across).... i destroyed my thumb on the damn mufler.... but here she is with her new ***... now i have the other door, which has gone through alot of work, and all the dents and dings are out, pics soon.... and some work on the driverside door, a couple of dings nothing terrible, almost time for paint!!!! im so excited! i just have to fix my rocker panels... all rusted out...
someone hit me in the parking lot one day and took off... and it dented right in the body line... and i just could not get the line straight... so i had two other doors off my parts car... and they went to good use... and the manual windows came out to be a a plus... they go all the way down...and all the way up no wishing or manifesting them to go up.. hahaha... but all in all made my job alitle bit easier.
also any that might be interested... i have all my brown interior which was in very very good condition up for sale..https://www.rx7club.com/se-sale-wanted-classifieds-180/fs-brown-interior-85-gsl-841287/
just bought some new wheels to add to this bad girl!!!!! and im sooo excited! i have wanted these wheels from the first 7 i had! too bad they are only 13's... they wont do once the turbo is done, but intill then.... 13x6.5 better then the + wheels
Now that's pretty sexy. You can still get some sticky rubber in 13s if you don't mind ponying up for them. So when you going to come up this way? Or am I going to have to come down to Charlotte?
got some more work done today... got the pass. door on, and started working on the drivers side door... check it out!
as well as some problem areas..
so today i finally found a place that would sell me 2 pieces of 4 foot by 5 inches of sheet metal and not try and rape me!! $22 not a bad price!! now i can get to those rusted and dented rocker panels and get to the paining process!!!
yeah no kidding..... thats really the only spot on both sides.... the pass. side is no where near that bad.... it looks like the guy who owned it befor got stuck on a curb or something cause its dented all the way across the bottom mddle of the car... ill really find out once i start welding in there...
ok so yesterday was a great day i got lots of stuff done!!!i put my new locks in, i had to cut the old lock holes a bit bigger to fit them in, they work great! though i need to get all the locking mechinism for the trunk cause mine was just missing all of that, i thought my old lock was broken but it turns out it it wasnt connected to anything cause its not there.... i also cut out an alluminm fan holder for my e-fan... and last but not least got started on my rocker panels!!! which turned out to be way harder of a job then first excpected!!! i guess i just got too thick og gauge steel, cause even under a torch it was a pain to bend upto weld the front... but the rust holes are gone, now they are just dents, and i dont want to bondo them up cause that will just crack and fall off and look worse!!... so i guess i can live with dents better then holes... i didnt get a chance to grind off the ugly part of the weld it was pretty much dark after i finished the drivers side i thought i got a pic of it but ill have to get one on here later. i also came up with a solution to our terrible gas shocks that hold our glass hatch up... i cut two slots on either side and untill i can find something better i used this electric connecter.... works great!
just installed my E-fan!!! its a messy install at the moment to get it in there, but i will be cleaning it up tomorrow... and also will see if it cools sufficiantly on a hot day... lets hope so!!! i used the fan shroud and the fan spins fast and is an aftermarket fan so i dont see why it wouldnt...
ok so just got home from work, and in the heat driving in stop and go traffic for about 20 mins. or so the fan did great! just about 1/4 of the gauge.... as of right now i have the fan wired to a switch inside the car, i want to change that what setups are you guys running i was looking at

so iv been off the forum for a while, since last post, my efan died... and so did my msd box... i think. i havent got a chance to pull i tall apart and look at it... then yesterday i finally got a chance to get to some more body work, and get to painting... and i noticed that my damn lense is missing... well the car should be painted in full this week! i did the doorjams, and under the hood and trunk and such..anyone have an extra lense.. and since i gutted my ignitor for the msd box an ignitor as well??? ha..
finally, but not finished yet... still a bit rough.. i need to go through and sand it all and buff, and there are a few spots that need touching up.then have to throw the pin stripping on there, just black.. but my father ended up doing it for over this past week... he said it was a huge pain in the ***... so im kinda glad i didnt get into it... but here are a few shots, also in the "silver" there is a metal flake in the clear but not in the black.. and i have not got around to refinishing my new rims, and painting the mesh... that is going to set this car off!! also all new door, and window weather stripping! and my new projector headlights!!!! FTW! she is teh sex!!
