tires on 5.5 rims?

Hey guys is 215/60/14 too wide for a stock 5.5 wide SE or FC rim? I have the FC phone dials on my car right now and want to pick up some drag radials but unsure of fitment and how it will look. Even better if you have pics.

Thanks, Ed

In a word, yes. You run the risk of rolling the sidewall over the rim during cornering. Anything over 195 is really pushing it. I have 185's on my stock X 5.5's and they fit perfectly. No pics yet though.

Actually I'm using the FC phone dials as of now which is the same with as the SE if I'm not mistaken. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Finding cheater slicks in 14's is a pita. Maybe I just need to suck it up and pick a set of 15 inch wheels?

Thanks, Ed

I had 215/50/13's on stock non se 5.5 wheels. They were fine. Technically they are too wide but I never had any problems with them. Im back to 205/60's now for better mileage and speedo accuracy on my DD.
