Tire Choice
I'm going to be picking up some 16x7" rims and I know what tires (read: brand) I'm going to get, but I have one question left.
I'm running a stock GSL-SE with stock suspension setup (pretty much)
I'm wondering which tire size would be better, or if you have any opinions on which one's to get.
I'm looking @ 205 50 16's or 205 40 16's.

tires
I just recently bought tires for my stocker 13" rims.
get wider that 205s!!! if you can get 215s, that'd be perfect. 205 is nice, but 215/50/16 is friggin nice.

Tire Rack saids 205/50 for the 16" I would think 40 series would be pushing it unless the rims have the correct offset to use them even then it takes more to push them along compared to smaller series. also 205 has nothing to do with the width its the 50 that does.

When I bought my GSL back(long story) it had a SE suspension under it with 16x7s and 205-50-16s. The car had 1" drop Racing Beat springs. It would rub a little when you would turn to the lock on the steering wheel. I never had any problems rubbing driving down the road though.

crank, example 205/40R16. the 205 is the section width in mm. the 40 would be the aspect ratio, meaning the sidewall is 40% of the section width. 205*.4= 82mm. btw, 1 inch = 25.4mm.
myrx, i think a 205 is the widest you can go up front. a 205/45 would be about the same diameter as the stockers, that would be my first choise. with the heavier 16's i prob wouldn't go with the taller 50 series. with the 40's you'd get a little better acceleration but there is a greater chance of rim bendulation (yes, i like inventing words) if your roads are anything like mine.
imo, a good inexpensive tire is the Kumho supra 712.

I was going to go with the Kumho ECSTA Supra 712
or the ECSTA MX. Whatever I can afford, but the ECSTA Supra 712 has more tires sizes available in the 16"
