tips on puttin in a clutch

so i was wonderin if there was any tricks or stuff i should know about when putting in my clutch cause i put it in and bolted everything back up and have spent the better part of two days doin it and i finaly got done but it doesnt go into gear like theres nothin there. any advise, besides the odvious, like u put it in the right way, but is there anything that i might have over looked or a trick to doin this on these cars. i need help please, thanx

does it not actual go into the 1,2,3..... positions or does it go in them and the car doesn't go?

no it wont go into them at all only when the car is off. lol like whats the point then

does your clutch pedel feel normal.....sounds like you did not install the fork and throgh out bearing right..

bleed the clutch fluid at the slave cyl. You probably just have a bunch of air in your lines. Also there is a clutch pedal adjustment at the top of the pedal, it changes the engaugement point of the clutch.

i wouldn't mess with the pedal adjustment rod just yet. bleed the clutch and see if that helps

I had a problem where I could not get my clutch to slip into gear. My pilot bearing went bad. Did you replace yours?

Sounds simple, but when you reinstalled the clutch slave cylinder, did you put the metal rod into the clutch fork?

What you're describing about not being able to get it into gear unless the engine is off is clearly due to the clutch being engaged at all times. This can only be caused by a few simple factors, since there are only a few ways to get the transmission together incorrectly.

First thing to look at would be the clutch hydraulics, as specified above, then report back and we'll see what we can do. HTH,
