I'm looking into building a 12A powered '65 Ford Cortina https://www.rx7club.com/old-school-other-rotary-63/12a-powered-65-ford-cortina-960967/

I have the large street port motor out of my '83 that I'd be installing. It has a light weight steel Racing Beat flywheel behind it. I have the '83 tranny behind it still but it needs a rebuild so I figured I'd go with a TII tranny. Size of the tranny and location of the mount doesn't really matter since it would all be custom. I know I will need the TII driveshaft and TII starter. I also plan to use the TII tranny mount.

The questions I have are about the Flywheel and clutch.

1. Can I use my '83-'85 RB lightweight flywheel or do I need a TII flywheel?
2. what clutch do I need to use?

I understand if it turns out I need the TII flywheel that I could just get the steel flywheel only since I already have the right counterweight.

I believe you can use your RB flywheel with no problems. You would use a TII clutch/pressure plate/ slave cylinder.

You won't be able to use it.

The clutch diameter of the 12a cars is 225mm while the TII clutch diameter is 240mm I believe. You need the right counterweight for your rotating assembly.

You'll also need TII clutch, starter, slave cylinder, custom driveshaft. Can use 12a shifter..

^Correct, you need the T2 flywheel and clutch, and the 12a counterweight.

Thanks that is what I needed to know. I have the right counterweight already so I'd just need the flywheel.

So the list is:
-TII lightweight flywheel
-TII clutch
-TII Starter
-TII slave cylinder
-custom driveshaft

I'm not sure what I'd be using for the shifter yet. I'm not actually sure where the shifter would sit in the car yet.
