tii swap question

have managed to find an rx7 body here in cape town, so am considering acquiring it and fitting an s5 tii into it

now i've read up on most of the posts here, and i'm quite familiar with the procedure now. eg get front mount bracket and sump from mazdatrix to fit. then change front cover and modify to accept oil return line. I have steering on the right so i have to flip the turbo manifold over to clear steering arm. Then i plan on using microtech system to drive everything, and fit a front mount intercooler. oh yes, not forgetting the boost referenced fuel pressure regulator.

which brings me to my question :

the rx7's released here were all the 4 barrel carb versions. Given the higher pressure that I now need to drive the fuel for FI purposes, are the std fuel lines sufficient, or do they need to be upgraded ?

From posts i've noticed of guys that did the tii into gsl-se they did not upgrade as the lines were sufficient given the gsl-se was fuel injected in the first place

Yes, you will need to get larger fuel lines.

You can get away with only increasing the size of the return line. Both feed and return need to be 5/16", bigger if you plan on running more power/boost etc...

Yea,if you use another stock feed line to replace the old small return line, youll be OK.Going bigger is kinda pointless if the feeds in the tank,or the outlet of the pump,is only 5/16".
If you have HP that needs 3/8"-1/2" fuel lines, your basically gonna have to rebuild the whole system
Im running that setup (both 5/16") and its handles my needs just fine.(14psi....300HP-ish).It matches the stock TII hardlines in size.

I'm also running 5/16" feed and return.

Rice Racing was running in excess of 400rwhp with the standard hard lines.

As for the manifold, I don't think flipping it will solve anything. A custom manifold that moves the turbo forward of the steering box is the way to go.
