Tightening clutch??? is it possible?

I know my clutch (and car) is 21 years old...and well...the clutch is going to be needing a replacement but is there anyway to tighten somthing up so i have more pedal feel or engagment at a closer point.....my car never wants to go into reverse without making that ear bleeding imbarassing gear striping sound..people think im stupid and forget to push the clutch in but its all the way to the floor!!!! It drives fine but im just thinking could i tighten somthing up though???

i already have a new slave,,SS line,,and rebuilt master...it holds pressure so dont tell me to fill up the master or bleed it i even went to a local shop so they could use one of those guns to bleed it and i still have the same problem...and it sucks!!!!!!!!

There is no way to adjust a hydraulic clutch. Bleed it!

No, actually it sounds like a tranny problem, not really a cltuch issue. The cltuch should disengage no matter how worn it is.

You can change the engagement point of the cluch under the dash. If that doesn't fix the problem, replace the clutch.

It sounds like a 21 year old RX-7 to me. Change the tranny oil if you wish, try some redline/royal purple. That and get in the habbit of putting it in first gear, before you go in reverse. There are no syncros on the reverse, so I might do that like you said.

There is a rod that is clevised to the pedal arm. Loosen the lock nut and rotate the arm in or out, depending on which way you need adjustment. Takes a 10 and 12 mm open end wrench to do the job.

I have an 80 rx-7 and it does the same thing with the clutch. Putting it into first then reverse always works for me.

Wiat wait wait. Does it grind going into EVERY gear, or just reverse? If its all gears, then mess with the engagement thing. Which I never knew about so thank you for posting that. But, if its just reverse, your tranny is the culprit. See what your fluid looks like.
