Tie rods

Wondering if there are any reverse thread nuts on the tie rods. Have one that is being very difficult to remove.
Thanks

yes, one side is normal, the other side is reverse, so you can adjust it without having to take it apart.

if the parts are new the reverse nuts are a different color, but if its the original stuff, its probably not going to be easy to tell

I decided to use the lathe and machine it off since I couldn't get it off. Now it's done

I just had the same problem not long ago. Ended up needing new ones from Atkins.

I was replacing mine anyway so I could trash the old one... Also, How does the Energy suspensions rubber covers install? Do you put them over the black rubber ones or do you have to remove the ones that are on the tie rods?
Thanks

If you have new tie rod ends, I would keep the covers that came on them. If you are replacing
them then remove the old one and then slip the new ones over the end.

I ordered Energy tie-rod boots via Autozone, & they ended up not fitting on my OEM tie rod ends with the boot removed.

Never even considered putting them over the existing boots. Maybe would have fit, but I'd worry about the double-thickness between the end and the knuckle fitting OK.

Yeah, they don't seem to fit when put on top either.
