Take that screw all the way out and look at the tip of it. Is it all there, did the tip snap off?

I have read and read and don't see any flaming. I do see some people with knowledge being a little aggressive in an effort to prevent you from doing damage. Look at my pics, when a rotary pops the least expensive item is the rebuild kit, the housings, rotors, etc are the killer! Learn your carb inside and out as mentionsed. Install a wideband. Lock the dizzy. And for gods sake trust us when we say keep the boost low! Yeah you'll be safe with 10lbs boost, but only "with a good tune!" Start at about 4lbs, then tune the carb to respond correctly using the wideband. Then go to 6lbs, repeat carb set up. Then 8, then 10 and bring the water injection in with the 8+ lbs of boost. Good luck!

Alright i can only write a bit here cause I have to leave already but I have to kit on and set up to go I just neecd to adjust it accordingly tomorrow in the daylight. I think I may have found A BIG problem. The turbo was pretty much almost locked up. So we took it all apart and cleaned it up pretty well. There was so much carbon built up it was really restricted! So now it spins WAY more freely. We also put a fuel regulator on it set to 4 pounds and a return line. We did a bit more tuning on the carb too and it seems A LOT better as well. I'm gonna ask another stupid question here but as you turn the screws in is that lowering the fuel ratio? I'm also looking up widbands. Gotta go for now. Thanks guys for all the help.

Screw in is leaner
screw out is richer

But as far as fuel ratios go... higher numbers are leaner. Shoot for low 14's at idle/cruise and mid to low 11's at WOT.

Did U ever remove the fly weight springs and set timing? I looked back through the posts briefly and didn't see any mention of it.

Low 14's cruise/idle, mid 12's to very low 13's part throttle acceleration and for sure low 11's on full throttle.

I noticed another problem when we took the turbo off. When we took the carb off of the turbo there was a pretty good amount of gas that drizzled out of the tube between the carb and turbo. What is that from? Too rich? Maybe it was doing that because the turbo was was so bound up?

If you have a "step" it will puddle fuel between the carb and turbo. U need to get rid of that step. Try pushing the carb base closer to the turbo see if you can get them touching. Shorten the coupling between the two if you have to and then tighten it up.

Also if the carb is anything like a holley the screws don't change the WOT fuel mixture they are just for idle rpm and idle fuel adjustment. I could be wrong here not familiar with your carb. Just something to look into.

I've had so much trouble with this setup and too little of knowledge to use it so I think I'm going to put my racing beat intake with my holly 465 on it with a header for now just so I can drive it. I'll put the turbo setup to the side for now till I have more knowledge to get it working right or possibly sell it to someone who could put it to good use. I got a phone call today from yeterben with some great info and lots of great tips, and thanks yeterben! But I don't think I'm quite ready to enter the turbo world quite yet. So I'll prolly start the switch over tomorrow and start driving the new 7........ safely. Thanks for all the help guys, it's was extremely helpful!

The purpose of the call was not to scare you it was to inform you of the real danger you risk running half assed. You must be informed and be informed the right way or there is no purpose in doing it period. Good luck Dont give up just get the right tools like we talked about.

All to often people think they can just slap it on and go.

It wasn't your call at all that changed my mind. I need my daily driver again and I've been using my dads truck lately. I had my other rx7 last year as my DD but it had a misfortunate end. So now I need this as my DD and if I can't get it running and running right theres no sense in having it. And getting REALLY crappy gas milage also isn't very good for a DD so like I said I'll either keep the setup for later or sell to someone else.

So if I was to sell it..... I have NO IDEA how much this setup is worth, what do you guys think..... i know it's just a waste of your guys time to ask this stupid question but i don't wanna get totally ripped off selling or in turn rip someone else off.

If its just the carb and exhaust and intake and ray jay i would say about 600-700 depending on who gets it and condition of said units. Economy sucks now.
All of my nikki knowledge was spoon feed to me buy another great member bad83 (Sam)

yeah, I would include the turbo, wastegate, intake, carb, intake that that comes off carb, down pipe and prolly the simple boost guage cause I really won't need it. I tapped a hole for the injection system in the turbo beside the wastegate pressure fitting that was already in the turbo. The turbo may need replaced cause it's not the newest if you know what I mean but it is working alright right now. Thanks for the response ben.
