Throttle stuck open

when I push the throttle in to hard (like 1/2-3/4) it gets stuck. Then I have to go under the hood and pull it back (its kinda hard). Does anyone know why it would all of a sudden start to bind like this. Need it fixed soon

It's probably the cable.
Try some white lithium grease from a spray can. Spray the carb linkage, too.

Mine sticks bad. I have to go by carb and pull it unstuck, and it takes quit a bit of force and it pops back with a bang. Don't know why

have you tried using a second spring, or replacing the old spring, I had an IDA that did the same thing.

Wow. Rusty, sound's like you're playing with fire!

And quicklilrex, if it pops back hard like that then it probably isn't your cable.
You have got to remove the air filter canister and get your head right down in there and operate the linkage by hand to see what's binding.
It's the only way!

Is your choke hooked up?

Yeah everything is hooked up. I have been putting my hand down there because thats how I have to get it unstuck. When I move the throttle by hand at about half way or so I can here it rub or scrape on something. Could something have come loose inside of the carb?

No.

Try harder!

Have you sprayed the linkage with lubricant?
