thinking about premixing, have a few questions
as it reads, i did some searches, and have a few questions. since i will be burning the 2 cycle, can i run synthetic in the engine? i will be using one 16 oz container per fillup (85 car with larger fuel tank). anyone know where i can get the right stuff cheapest, and what do you recommend i get. also, where can i get a blockoff plate for the omp. the last question is can i run the fuel system cleaner/emissions test pass stuff (alcohol based) in my tank, or will that kill the oil in the fuel. thanks for the help.

If you want to run with synthetic oil in the engine then it is recommended to remove the OMP system first--then you're 100% committed to premix. Yea you will need a blockoff plate for this, check www.k2rd.com for a blockoff or just make one out of steel or aluminum plate. Their site is kinda funked up right now but it should be back up soon.
For your other questions, search over in the 2nd gen forum and you will find all your answers and more. The 2nd gens are basically the same when premix is concerned.

anyone know about putting the emissions pass stuff in with the premix (is it a bad thing to do)? what type of 2 cycle oil should i run, and where to get it. can i just use the stuff for lawnmowers? i read something about tc-3w, or something like that. where can it be found? thanks

I don't know what different additives will do, but I can tell you one thing: If you're premixing, don't even *think* of passing emissions.
Burning that much extra oil will produce emissions that will **** off even the most mal-adjusted emissions tester machine!

Here's an summary of my test results:
50% hp/15 mph (rpm 1910)
-----------------------------------
HC-ppm 108 (limit 194)
CO-% 0.12 (limit 1.1)
CO2-% 14.5 (no limit)
O2-% 3.3 (no limit)
NOx-ppm 15 (limit 1504)
Dilution-% 14.62 (limit > 6)
25% hp/25 mph (rpm 2102)
-----------------------------------
HC-ppm 93 (limit 189)
CO-% 0.27 (limit 1.21)
CO2-% 14.4 (no limit)
O2-% 3.3 (no limit)
NOx-ppm 8 (limit 1374)
Dilution-% 14.67(limit > 6)
Remember the 2-stroke oil burns much cleaner than crankcase oil. As long as you don't over do it with the amount you will be OK. I did run a little lighter ratio when I went to the test, like 175:1 instead of my ususal 125:1. That was my first test, in hind sight I don't think the ratio really mattered--based upon the test numbers being so good.

i was thinking about it, and as long as i am not putting the stuff in all of the time, just every once in a while, i should be allright. i'm gonna take a shot at passing the emissions test on the 2 cycle, and see how it works.
