things i am gonna need
I just picked up a 13b out of a 85 gsl-se and i have a 79 so i wanted to know what all i need to get to bolt that baby up? i know i need a gsl-se oil pan because i cant remember what the one the guy gave me was. if anyone has a pic of one so i could compare that would be great. and i should get a 12a front cover and the mount from rb. but other than that what else would i need ? it has no intake so i was wondering if i should go with a carb still... or should i fuel inject it?
second question is is there a cheaper way to rebuild it besides the 800+ dollar kit from rb?

Well you are going to have to redo your engine mounts since the 13b is wider. You will need a new clutch setup including flywheel and counter weight. New exhaust manifold for 13b. Depends on if you have smog laws in tour state. If you don't it will be easier to use carb setup instead injection. As far as rebuild kits, don't skimp on parts if you want it to last.
If you can afford it have it rebuil by an professional and if your looking for performance, now is the time to have it ported. rx7doctor

what do you mean by redo the engine mounts? i know about the front mount do i have to do something to the others? and i was going to change the clutch and the flywheel i want to use the lightweight aluminum one from mazdatrix ... my car is too old for smog laws. so i will probably use a carb setup.. do i need to redo everything in the engine or can i re-use some stuff? i am going to replace all the gaskets thats a given. and as for porting.. i was thinking about bridgeport.. what are your thoughts on that?

As far as porting goes, recommend street port for reliability, rb header system. If your car does not require smog then remove air pump, rats nest. As far as intake goes, it all goes and you start over with an aftermarket weber or mikuni if you can find one or something from sterling carbs. Do not recommend aluminum flywheel for street, tendency to stall to
easily, recommend lightened steel instead. Going with a good aftermarket performance fuel
pump and regulator, etc. Alot of threads to research on the forum/. rx7doctor
