wow HS!?! I drove a '74 Delta 88 in HS. 350 rocket witha 4 barrel card and a 400 turbo trans. big *** car with big *** motor. I didn't get into sporst cars until i go a ford escort ZX2. and watned to see if i could get any HP out of it.

then this year i bought an '83 GS RX7 from my GFs bro...he bought a supra. i feel in love with the motor and the look of the car and there is no turning back now... if i had time and the money i would just take off work to get some things down to it. maybe that is what i can spend my vacation on. find some where and someone to help me do a few things that has the time. Sorry no HS xp wth RX here

I was only one of 3 kids who bought there cars too. Needless to say I was friends with them! not dissen on any one who got the car form someone!

But now that I can drive I have went hog wild buying cars. All the money I saved in gas over the 2 years I didnt have my lience!!! haha!

i was kinda lucky back in high school. i had an old chevy celeb (second year of h.s.) they that broke down then i bought an 80" toyota corolla 1.8 with a blown motor and me and my brother put a 12a in her and i finally got the respect i should have. but i went to a school full of puerto ricans so even one had a rotary or an old 4 banger. there were pretty much 4 groups of people; the rotaries, the 1.8 3tc's, the toy twinn cam's, and the hondas.

as of now where i work there is only one other rx-7 an it's owned by an old buddy of mine. people stare at my white 85 gs where ever i go.

There was a really hot chic that drove a 1983 GSL when I was a senior. Nothing like a hottie in a hot FB!!!

My first love and high school car, which I still have, was the Merkur XR4Ti. Family was a Merkur dealer, so loved them from day one, and winning the Trans-Am title didn't hurt. Too busy trying to make it go faster, so thump was a home subwoofer in the trunk. lol And also hated that it was auto, so shifted it like a manual all the time. Stupid kid. LOL Wonder why I went through three trannys in one year.
My best friend now I met while racing across the causeway home here, him in his FC and me in the XR. good fun race, stupid, but fun. met at the next light, and hit it off.

Now that I have a house, and a little bit of cashflow to play with, I have the 83 GSL in the garage. My girlfriend loves it, she calls it the smelly turd that stunk up the house. Which I can kinda see as it is brown, and the stank old gas smell permiated the house while I was getting it running. Girls and their pet names. ;D

Cheers,
Travis

P.S. In this months Sport Compact Car, there are 25 car guy things to do. One of them is buy the first car you fell in love with growing up. For me was the Merkur and the RX7. But in the article, they mention two examples, "Lancia Stratos or Mazda RX7,whatever made you first love cars." The 7 never loses!!!!!

When i was in HS it was me and my buddy who were the rotorheads in my town. my 83 and his 84 gsl. We were looked down on by all the mustang dumbasses. Then one rich kid had his parents buy him a fd. He totaled the tranny and sold it to a dude who wrapped around a tree. Oh well Im like you guys now all alone in a place where people know nothing about us.
