Are there any aftermarket Radiators?

I want to put an aftermarket radiator for better cooling. Does anybody know if they make them for 1st gens or will I have to buy one and make it fit. I want to buy a 3 core but one that is a good size. Not like the ones that came from the early model 1st gens. Can I use an after market radiator from a 2nd? I am trying to stay away from trying to make one fit if they make some that do. I will if I have to. I was just seeing if anybody has any suggestions?

lots of guys will put in a stock or aftermarket 2nd gen radiator. That makes a huge difference. You can install it slanted, like in the 2nd gens or vertical, but it will be very close to the ground that way. I want to eventually get a bigger radiator, but I will try out some big junkyard ones. I know I will need to fabricate, but that is the fun part.

check out RX7.com. They have a brass contruction 2 core for the later models, and a 3 core for the earlier. (early had 2 stock, late had 1). If I remember right they're about $180.

You can get a stock replacement for cheap at radiators.com

I went with the 2nd gen replacement myself. Cools much better than stock, and they are usually aluminum so they weigh a bit less too. Mounting can be a pain though...

yes, there are aftermarket rads in both stock and generic configurations. You can even upgrade to a triple core if you wish.

I went with a stock style 3 core from Vb. It has plenty of cooling ability.

I had my stock 2 core rebuilt as a three core, worked great, I also have a 2nd Gen rad in one car but it hangs a bit low to the ground.

If you want good stuff buy PWR you won't look back. Since I changed to alloy radiator my thermo fan has come on only twice. Also alloy radiators look phat as.
PWR make radiators to suit Rx7 with little/no mods
