Thanks

I was tinkering with my car today when a Canada Post guy walks right up to me and hands me a package, saying "looks like this got here just in time".

Turns out it was a replacement HVAC logicon.

Alex, I know you had someone send it to me but I can't recall who. So thank you both.

Cut my hand all to hell putting it in though. There's one wiring harness clip buried in the steering column behind some very, very sharp metal edges.

I bought it off Dave (V8Kilr). You're welcome BTW.

Thanks Dave - other than 1 burned out bulb it works like a charm. That is, like a lump of rock that only works if you believe it works...

j/k. It works great, and I appreciate it.

Ok...I just thought of this the other day...Is there any lights behind the actuall words heat, bi-level, vent, defrost, etc? I mean, at night, I reach up to press the buttons and I know where they are, but my Mom went to drive my car and she had to turn on th dome light to see which one was the defrost...The lights on the buttons work, but is there supposed to be something behind the words to light them up at night?

You could always just move somewhere warm and sunny, like Central Texas. Then you don't really need the defroster.

yes, there are supposed to be lights in them. I found out last night that a couple of bulbs in the 'new' one are burnt out (one in a button, and one or two behind the labels) so I'll dismantle my old one, find out how the bulbs go in, and swap 'em into the other.

The bulbs are in the underside of the switch buttons.
Be careful, they are small!

what about the bulbs in behind the labels? Those'll haft to be above the buttons...

edit: found the 2 access hatches on top of the unit for the label bulbs. NOw to figure out how the bulbs release...

edit: spade-type. They pull right out, but you have to be careful not to pull the orange 'condom' off of them

I don't remember, but I am sure you can figure it out.

Usually just push and twist.

just push/pull in this case. The label lights look like mini versions of the side marker light bulbs, only with a plastic orange 'condom' slid over 'em

Get a driveshaft, set the haltech in closed loop, fill it full of gas, plug in the 1996 "car phone" and drive the ****** there. There, now it's like the lounge sorry had to do it
