I heard AutoZone rent these out they hold your id and a small deposit while u use it . I need to test out my oil pressure gauge is reading 0 on idle goes to 30 max running 20w50 castrol also. Is this true ?

 

Not sure about the 20/50, but when you rent the tool, the just charge your credit card, then refund after you return it.

Very low pressure for a rotary if that's in fact what it is. Is this a recent issue? I had a bad oil filter once that made it have low pressure.

 

could be just a bad sender. i actually run a mechanical gauge plumbed to an aluminum block between the oil filter and pedestal.

 

Sounds like a bad sender. I also have a mechanical gauge plumbed to an aluminum block under the oil filter and with 20w-50 Valvoline VR1 I get about 70 psi at idle (cold and 1,400 rpm).
