Ok so I just came back from another run. Tonite was the first time I was able to really test the difference after handling the intake manifold issue last weekend, since on Monday and Tuesday the road was kinda wet. After a few tries, I was able to do 8.37! I know it's not a world record, but much better and kinda what I expected from this setup. So I'm happy in that regard.

One of the things I also did differently was at what rpm I shifted. I actually watched the tach and the rpms go faster from 7 to 8k rpm than from 6 to 7, one of the attributes of the streetported engine, which I was missing on.

You have no idea how boring it is here lol. I usually shift at 7500 to 7750 into 2nd and then at 7500 into 3rd. When I am trying for the fast times. I have tried other rpms also for shifting and this has yielded best for me so far. I need more fuel!

I shift consistantly @ 7500 RPMs, unless I wanna beat on it.

Told you initially that you didn't know how to drive the damn thing.
But hey, blame the carb, right?

Well that's when I'm not beating on her.
I learned to take it easy after I tore the rear tires off the rims during a 2nd-3rd shift @ 65 MPH. (Doncha just hate it when that happens?)

Oh the TORQUE!

Why so negative? how hard would be to say "hey great! that's more like it. Good job on the manifold. Keep working at it". But no, he had to make his negative comment. So yeah, I did that time despite that piece of **** carb that you produce. Mel, can I borrow a weber with manifold so I can really unleash the ponies in my car?

not a good idea. I may not get it back but have either carl or sterling port the pre-81 12-A manifold (my xmas gift to ya). if not, I will have my bro port them since he has a flow bench.

BTW: stelring/carl, as soon as I get the Solex door locks, I will ship them

I'm obviously just ******* with ya, and unless Sterling was also ******* around when he made that "blame it on the carb" comment, I will seriously start believing he really is coockoo, coockoo, coockoo!

I'd rather get it ported locally, if Dave can do it, awesome. We'll talk when I swing by this weekend.

Ok I'll take your word for it - Coockoo!

Pressure cranked to 22 psi like you suggested. Now I have a question though. Is it normal to have gas pouring out of the air filter at that pressure? I thought that was a little odd, but maybe it's just me?

No! Smack your accelerator pump with a hammer. That should stop the bleeding.
If that doesn't work, then you're gonna have to JB weld the airhorn shut.

Oh Ok I knew that wasn't normal. Tried the hammer, but no joy. Might have to try a bigger one. In the meantime, thank god I always carry JB weld in my tool bag, in case the bigger hammer fails. Can't wait to test it after this! I'll probably hit low 5's on the 0-60!!!!!

Yeap, Cuckoo and I seem to have the same polarity.

NoLuck's got nothing, just an FI SE with headers and direct fire. I'll have him from breakfast anyday of the week! Let's take it to the track so there's no chance for him to crash into parked cars!
