So you're running 58s in the primaries and 70s in the secondaries.

YOU let me know when your ready to listen to my jetting suggestions.

:D Just havin a lil' fun.

What do you have in for air bleeds?

cdrad51 12-07-04 10:53 AM

Whatever the Sterling carb came with. Have not changed them. Should I try to lean it at high rpms with different size air bleeds?

Whaddaya threatening to not accept my advice?!:rlaugh:
Well Ohhh-Kay.

Duddin madder to me. My stockport 12A is way faster than 9.3 in the 0-60.

(pssssst. Is this "strike 3"?):D

Man, if you can't do but 9+ second 0-60's, something is amiss. That's little better than bone stock. Too many ricer 4 bangers can take you at will. How embarrassing.

I'm now into 7's 0-60 solidly and plan to pay around 4 grand to get a sec and a half or two quicker, then that'll be it for me. That's my plan.

The "rolling 10-60" is crap. What you gonna do ? Always get smoked from a stop at a redlight and then say "but 10-60 is my game and I coulda took you if I could start form 10mph" ???

That's like getting in a fight, getting a new ass stomped, and blaming it on the wussy genes your Mom and Dad gave you. You gotta have a plan and take responsibility ( and hopefully credit ) for your results you give yourself.

Sterling 12-07-04 12:45 PM

The fact is CDrad here has fought Carl and I tooth and nail regarding venturi configuration and jetting, and he has made himself look a bit like your avatar on this forum by poo-pooing all of our efforts to convince him to jet according to our recommendations. Still, as slow-assed as he is, he blames something else and not his choice of jetting!!!
I could give a crap less about how fast he gets to go. In his case, I only care about how my carburetor is represented. It is for this reason that I mention the fact that he refuses to adhere to our jetting recommendations.
I can help him to go much faster, but he doesn't wanna listen to my advice. He seems to regard me as an idiot.
So fuck 'em. :)
He wants to brag about a 9.3 second 0-60, let him.

"Strike 3". Pfffffft. That was a homerun, buddy! :rlaugh:

Siraniko 12-07-04 01:11 PM

the answer is simple: CRAD51 is a stubborn senior citizen :D

Are you selectively blind Dennis? I am asking and you won't answer. Is that your idea of me rejecting your recommendations, or are you just so self-centered that all you care about is asserting your self-righteousness?

Man, I tell you....

It takes one to know one eh? ;)

d0 Luck 12-07-04 03:09 PM

why won't you just use a 48 IDA and modify it? it's really simple.

IanS 12-07-04 03:18 PM

From what it sounds to me, CDrad51 is running very slightly faster times than I am and I have stock carb, not modified. Most other things are the same. Time shall tell when the dyno results are gotten. On a completely different note, the ported intake I have does not have a vacuum line to go to the brake booster. I am having a coolant issue right now so I havent driven it to see if I have brakes or not. Will the brakes work without the vacuum line hooked up? Can I hook it to another vac line on the carb (spacer) if I need it?

I don't think the brakes are gonna work right without the vacuum line for the booster. And the size of the original line is bigger than any of the ones in the spacer, so don't think that'll work either, IMO.

I'm considering a SP 13B swap for next year, so at that point yeah, I'd probably go with a Weber.

IanS 12-07-04 03:38 PM

well thats shitty. What was BS? My time being close to your time? Or what?

Also I am going to test my 0-80. I would like a comparison if that is possible cdrad.

Of course I will! Friend.:D

-But first I need to know what air jets yer runnin. I dunno what Carl sent it out with, and it's probly different than what we send them out with now.

IanS 12-07-04 03:47 PM

Oh lol I see. cdrad51 and I have been trying to figure this out for a while now. I will be back in a bit to let everyone know my 0-80 and hopefully I can get a better comparison on it. 80 is right above redline in third so it should be a better comparison I am thinking rather than 0-60.

cdrad51 12-07-04 03:48 PM

Ok. Carl? need your input please.

IanS 12-07-04 03:49 PM

How are you guys online when it says offline? I am confused now more than before. AHHHHH
