i've got those same rims, but I have an '82 that is black that i'm restoring. The center sections on mine need to be re-powercoated because they are extremely dull.

Yeah that is what I am talking about. So did you ever get power tools or just a bunch of elbow grease?

Nice work. I think the centers are to dark for the white paint though.

i don't know about those tires, right now I have Bridgestone Potenza RE910's in a 195/50R15 (i guess i don't have the same rims as you, bigger in diameter and skinnier, they were on the car when i bought it). they stick really well, and are very progressive with the snap oversteer. very controllable. my only problem is my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts i break the tires loose (1-2 at 7k nets 500 rpm of wheel spin to 7500 rpm before they grab, bring my rpm's down to 6500 and i have to grab third a split second later, skwak the tires shifting into third at 7k). they came on the car, and i have three spares, so i won't be buying tires for a while seeing as how my car is in the process of being restored.

i think that a 50 series tire is just right, 60 looks too close to stock, and anything less you run the risk of damaging the rim and it would look goofy (like the old Monte Carlo with 26" wire spoke wheels that drives around where i live. he had to lift it to get the rims under it. the damn thing looks rediculious, and the tires are like 20 series tires. i'm waiting for him the bend the **** out of his rim).
