Temp. (gauge) sending switch located on the engine?

1985 RX7 12A engine. I am not able to locate the Temperature Sending Switch that feeds to the Gauge in the cluster. I do not see anywhere near the Thermostat housing. Is it somewhere else?

Welcome to the forum.

This just came up in a thread about a 12A in a 79, but I imagine it might be in the same/similar spot for an '85 FB with a 12A. If not someone here will know!

It's a bullet type sensor under and to the left of the oil filter pedestal. The mushroom shaped on in that area is the oil pressure sensor.

Not looking for the Oil Pressure Switch, but the Coolant Temperature Sending Switch that feeds the Gauge Cluster. Not sure if the location got changed from 1979 to 1985 (like mine) model. I have searched my manuals and can not find any reference to it or it's location for changing.

It's where I said it was, under the oil pressure sensor under the oil filler pedestal.

I will look there tonight when I get home. ALL of my gauges are working except that one, and it was previously working. So my guess is this sending switch has failed. Already have a new replacement, just need to swap out to hopefully get this very important gauge reading once again. Thanks.
