I bought a silver/red package touring with 67779 miles, with a new remain at 51760.And the history before i got it was
1.new remain
2 repalced rear seal
3 new sifter bushings
4 replace ast
5 replaced check valve
6 ac expansion valve
7 solenoid valves and couple vacum hoses
8 R&R oil metering pump,and oil line
9 replced lower radiator hose
10 oil pressure sending switch and 2 o rings on oil cooler
And ofcouse all the oil changes and what not
I've owned it for a year now with 79000 miles, this is my list
1 alignment
2 doorhandle broke due 2 power door locks
3 oil pan gasket and o ring on oil plate
4 windsheild washer pump motor
5 vacum leak at map sensor
6 R&I tras,replaced rear main seal
7 brake vacum hose
8 replace transmission
9 replace PCM/ECU
10 replace t/stat and rad caps
11 aftermarket alarm was feeding from power of transmisson, took alot of hours to figure why my new tranny wasnt shifting right
12 replace power window switch
13 replace lighter assy
14 leaky radiator,patched it
15 replaced turbos
16 replaced rotary, with another remain ,THIRD ENGINE!
17 replace radiator
18 replace ac compressor
And ofcourse i did the fuel filters, and flushes of fluids,sparks/tune ups
Did I by a lemon or is this Normal.Atleast i replaced everything, what else is left to brake,i hope this is the end of it!

That's a lot of work put into a year w/ 13k mi. I think cars typically go thru a period of time where things break and once you've replaced most of the stuff, you are okay.
I would be more concerned about the reason why your reman engine broke after only 28k miles. Maybe it wasn't rebuilt or installed correctly? It's important to find out why so you don't ruin another engine.

Good thing you found this forum.... There are alot of reliability modifications that will make your engines last longer... I would make sure you replace you pre-cats with a down pipe.. Also make sure you buy a boost gauge.. These are very high strung cars.. Things break.. You have obviously had more problems then most of us.. Alot of engines fail because of the pre-cats. Also get rid of the AST.. One more thing.. Make sure you change the mile at least every 2K.. 1K is even beter..
Good luck,

Damn! Change your name to Job. (you know, the guy in the Bible who had all sorts of **** fall on him for no good reason.)
If trouble with FD's follows a bell shaped curve, you're definitely
towards the outer edge of the curve. Most of it's stuff we've all heard before, but you've had more than your share.
I think the previous poster is right, and it's been my experience with used cars. When you become the new owner, you definitely go through a teething period where all sorts of problems pop up.
Then as you handle them, and follow proper maintenance, things smooth out and your attitude towards the car starts to change.
You even get to a stage where you really know the car and begin to anticpate things.
Then sometimes, there's a point (kinda like with a woman) where you bond with the car, and thinking about all the battles you've been through, you find it hard to think about ever giving it up.
Dr. John is in the house! Next caller.......

I think your power door locks broke due to the aftermarket alarm. I read somewhere in the forum that this was very common and nobody has as yet figured out a solution. Use the search feature for other alarm discussions.
As for the rest, hang in there, get a boost gauge, a TT, and check out the reliability mods section of the forum. Also, find a reputable Rotorhead to service your car, rather than the dealer.....they are out there...in every major city. I live in Tampa and use only Jeff Gladdish, owner of Maztech, 4810 N Clark Ave, Tampa (just west of the Raymond James Stadium area). 813-874-0937 I've used him for over 5 years.
I've got 114k on my 3G (just rebuilt engine & installed new flywheel & clutch). I fell in love with my car all over again.
