Temp gauge is broke

I noticed last night that my temp gauge never gets hotter. Ive done some seaching and I know its not my belt, that allready happend once and i drove to denver because i thought it was something else. Well regardless the temp gauge worked then because it was pegged out on hot when i was driving to work at slow speeds. I think i might have fried it. So my question is I have a 4port 13b, is the temp sensor still under the Oil Filter like some of ther other cars? And could it possibly be the Thermostat on the Radiator?

Yes, the temp sender is in the same spot.

Does it still run? If so it's probably fine. Get a second opinion from a mechanical guage. Check out Ray Green's recent thread.
