Taking the rats nest removal one step furthur
You know what looks like crap and is just not needed after removing the rats nest??? All those wires and their unplugged connection.
It is so easy to un-peel the wiring harness tape and loom. Remove the wires that are not needed all the way back to the plug by the firewall. Unplug the harness. Clean up the existing wires. Re-loom and tape back the wires.
Does not take that long and really makes for a sano engine compartment.
Take a look!!!

Super clean ^
If theres one thing I HATE about an engine bay, it's wires and vacuum lines running all over the place. I already stripped my harness down to the bare essentials, but still have some work to do. When I get the body work done I'm hoping I can hide the headlight wiring and possibly minimize everything else.

In my case all I needed left was one wire to the oil pressure sender, water temp sender, two small wires to the alternator, and the wiring for the ignition.
I did not need any wiring for the carb because I am using a stripped Nikki.
Really cleans up the engine bay.
