Check the wires on the trailing coisl' (-) terminal. Im too lazy to check your profile.

Check to make sure the connections are tight at the trailing ignitor. Does this occur mostly when it is cold outside?

if its a 79, check the voltage regulator and alternator. my intermittent tach was caused by a dying alternator.
