tach doesn't work

tach doesn't work

Hasn't worked since I got the car this week. When I start the car it just max's out. Is there a wire messed up somewhere. Where should I start to try and fix this

could be a blown ignitor or coil. (this is where the tach gets its signal, and blown ignitors are common)

The trailing ignitor. Maybe the contact is just loose.
