tach connection

i know the connection for the tach gauge is from the trailing coil but which color wire is it? does it go directly into the wiring harness or through something else?

IRRC, its either green with a stripe or a blue wire. Its easy to ID as it has a colored female connector. its connected in the (-) terminal. The thick black wire is the +
