Where did you find info on it? So far I have just come across a few Instagram posts showing pics of development but no information yet or pricing.

From what I saw, it looks like the hubs will either be OEM rotors that they turn down (or maybe that was the prototype), or new machined (like their other kits). I assume the hub will be available to suit different lug patterns, but don't know if the kit is designed around small or large bearing spindles, or both?

(No affiliation to T3 I just really like them)

T3 released their brake kit today, details are up on their website under "SA Rx7".

Apparently the first kit is for the 79-83 small bearing spindle cars, and they are going to release the large bearing spindle kit shortly. To me that is a big bonus. And I am sure they would sell just the hubs if you end up switching to big bearing spindles down the road.

For $1095 its hard to beat what the kit comes with... new dual lug pattern hubs ( 4 by 110 and 114.3), studs, wheel bearings, seals, new lines etc.

From their website:
Custom Machined Hubs with 4x110 and 4x114 lug pattern, new wheel bearings, and studs

Wilwood 4 Piston Calipers

276 mm Blank, Slotted, or Cross Dimpled/Slotted rotors

Super thick pads for long endurance races

3 D machined caliper mounting brackets and rotor hats

Stainless steel teflon coated brake lines

All mounting hardware included

This kit WILL fit under nearly all 14" wheels and we can provide a fitment template on request.

Low dust/noise street pads come standard with race pads as an available upgrade

Your choice of rotors, from cross dimpled, as pictured, to slotted, or blank.

Looks good! I wonder if the hub is the same offset? Looking forward to the big spindle version. Looks great for the money.

I like it. Good news for the small spindle cars.

For that price it needs to be a complete front/back kit.

I bet half the cost is the brackets and hubs since they're probably RX-7-specific.

Which would mean if you want new rotors you have to buy from T3. I'd at least want a solution that used a more available rotor or one that is two piece with a common part.

Small bearing, small bolt pattern brake options are pretty hard to find.....looks like Wilwood calipers, rotors and pads. T3 hub and bracket.

And don't forget you can't just up-size the fronts. If you don't upsize the rear too, you will end up with overall less braking ability.

I was on Wilwood's website pricing out calipers last night (trying to think up my own rear brake solution) and the list price on most of their small calipers is about $290 per caliper. Once you factor in the rotor and pads, that's really not a bad price for complete hubs, brackets, and lines.

The price for the kit is not that bad when compared to big brake kits for other performance cars.

The description does not provide the piston sizes for the Willwood caliper and that information is needed to compare the clamping force of these calipers to the OE calipers. The calculation would compare the area of the 4 pistons in the Willwood caliper to the area of the piston in the OE caliper X2. Because the OE caliper is a sliding caliper you have to double the number of pistons when determining clamp load. Any way, depending on the piston bores in the Willwood the clamping force number may not be that different

Case in point, I converted a Fox Mustang to Corvette PBR 2 piston sliding calipers in the 90s. The OE single piston caliper actually applied more clamping force than the 2 piston PBR caliber given the same Master Cylinder. I had to run a smaller diameter master cylinder for the front brakes to make them work right.

The only thing I would want is the ability to have a 4x100MM pattern. 4x100 wheels are lighter and much more plentiful than 4x114.3 or 4x110.

I might need to look into what it would take to adapt foxbody mustang calipers. I know nothing of foxbody calipers but seems like a place to start.

They are plentiful but also very big and heavy. The PBR calipers that were used on Vettes and Cobra Mustangs would be a better choice.
But along these lines, I think finding common OE calipers for a mass produced car is a good idea. GM used allot of aluminum calipers on their cars so that might be an option. What about Miata brakes???

I dont know as much about brakes as you guys but I appreciate all these insights (thanks mustanghammer).

The idea of a kit sounds great since our calipers are no longer available off the shelf. But as has been said - they have to be readily available parts and they have to work properly on our cars. Preferably with our master cylinders and proportioning valves, or else those need to be included in a kit too.
