haha my thoughts exactly...... anyways, try turning it, if you don't see anything, look under the dash and see what it's plugged up into, i know it's definitely not stock tho.

That is the normal spot for the 84-85 model cruise control switch. However the factory switch has a button in the center of it.

no my 85 has it on the right hand also.....just look under the dash, and try to follow the wires man, that'll probably be your best bet rather than us trying to figure it out, cuz it could be e-fan, fuel pump, fog lights, some other little lights or something that we have no clue about, hell it could be vibrating seats for all we know :P

i've wondered this myself, you know, why not just wire it to the already existent wires, but i've had several friends that instead of figuring out the wiring for it, they'll just put a switch and turn on the fuel pump before every crank, ...i guess some people are just lazy, i don't really know what other purpose this would serve, but w/e floats their boat.

oh btw, if you can't find the line, then it probably goes to nothing, idk, it's not stock and like i said it could be anything, maybe it was something that isn't there anymore. i had a switch in my car for a while when i burnt my interior lighting (common mistake lol) but i took it out when i fixed all my lighting.

I have a cutoff switch for my fuel pump. I added it to the power wire I have running from the fusible links to a relay. It's hidden away so it's my cheapo security system. They can break in and take the stereo but the car will still be there when I get back.

haha nice i have some of those, my old switch controled those and my interior dash light i used until i figured out how to fix my problem, then i got rid of the switch and wired the lights to the dimmer switch, so that i don't have to flip the switch to turn them on, it just turns on whenever i turn on my headlights

Same here. Plus, if they do find the fuel pump switch, good luck finding the e-fan switch. The car will just overheat and die.
