Hey guys i have a 1980 with the 12a i believe. Im new to rotarys so bear with me. Right now im contemplating doing the jdm 13bt swap into the car. Before i start getting flamed or anything i did read the sticky but it was not enough detail. Im kind of looking for an actuall formal write up step by step deal. Pretty much from what ive read it fits perfect. But are the motor mounts strong enough. Its kind of hard for me to type all these little ?'s out and not be confusing so here i go. Will i need a radiator upgrade if so do i need custom mounts. What about the oil cooler? The crossmember due to turbos. If the cross member needs to be changed what about the control arms and bushing? Do they need to be changed or could i get away with shaving down the bushing. The fuel pump will need to be upgraded so will it need a different gas tank or custom mounts?? As for wiring, i believe my speedo is cable driven. I dont think there is that much in the car. But what does it all entail for the wire, the engine and chasis harness or just the engine harness. Sorry im new to rx7's soo.

There is no detailed 100% step by step thread. You will have to do many searches and go thru many threads then you will probably have to figure some things out for your own. All of the questions that you are asking are in various threads about TII swaps. Biggest and most time consuming thing will be the gathering of info.
Recommend that you have a fresh ink in your printer and start printing away. :-)

 

lol thx. I was spoiled by subaru forums you could say. Nasioc.com is probably the best forum ive seen and they have all the step by step right ups. Not to be rude or anything but maybe you should chec it out for some forum ideas. All the guys over there are pretty cool to. But thxs again for the info. Im going to need to set a couple hours aside to start searching.
