13b porting and supporting mods question
IM planning on having my rebuild and install completed in september but this whole time i have only been planning on a rebuild with bolt on mods until I read that you can street port a 13b na. I was always under the impression that you cannot because of limited space. So i figure why not SP it while im droppin money for the rebuild and so the question arises..... will all my original parts still be efficient or do i need different injectors or something (im kinda lost)
I was going to use stock ecu and management and all that
regular 13b 6port headers and gslse exhaust
stock intake and Aftermarket intake (eventually get better intake)
During the SEARCH i read that the SP does not add a huge amount of horsepower
but i do not want to be rushing to buy parts last minute.... i also could not clearly tell what other ppl had done because a lot of people dont mention it or mention having a different fuel management so i wanted to be sure.
Thanks
Aure

The 6 port 13B has limitations on how big the ports can be made. The primaries are not able to be ported nearly as much as the 4 port primaries.
The secondaries can be ported, but also have limitations as to how much can be done.
The GSL-SE EGI system uses 2 injectors, where the FC 6 port engines use 4. The SE injectors are a higher flow, to make up for their lack of number. I cannot say how much porting can be supported, with the stock ECU and injectors.
Definately do plenty of research prior to having someone start grinding on the ports.

are you porting and doing rest of work yourself? if your looking for alot of power find yourself a 4port 13b, or you can always just put a t2 motor in then you wouldn't have as many limitations plus it would be alot easier..my pops had a 85 gsl it only had around 7k original miles, but a couple years ago somelady hit me when i was driving it and bent the frame, we were gonna do porting, but with the crazy low miles we wanted to keep it stock..good luck with project..get full coverage when done..lol
