Use whatever I have. Dunno what they are, but they're real nice. It rides a GOOD inch, maybe more, than the other FBs around town.

I have been researching this aswell. According to MazdaTrix.com, Racingbeat and Suspension Techniques springs will lower the car approx 1" front and rear. Eibach will lower approx 3/4" front and rear.

For those of you with performance springs do you have any problems with the tires rubbing? And what setups are you running?

Does anyone know if the Tokico blues or white are still available for the front on a 79-80? If so where? I can't find them anywhere.

Nope, unless you have wheels with incorrect offsets or chop your springs.

If one wanted to use performance springs, say the the Racing Beat springs for example which lower the car approx 1".

Which shocks should be used in the rear, the KYB GR-2(low pressure), or Gas-A-Just(high pressure) which MazdaTrix says raises the back approx 1/2"?

Would the Gas-A-Just combination make the rear end 1/2" lower than stock? Or is this a bad combination?

i had gas adjust on my base model that got put in along with the SE differential.. it was a lot stiffer than the stock ones, and the height was about the same, maybe just a little higher.. rode nice though..

I run RB springs and KYB GR-2 for a daily driver. The ride height seems about right - any lower and I'd get tire rub or bottom the car out. The car sticks very well and doesn't ride too stiff. I'm getting older and my butt likes a little TLC...

Hmm, maybe I need to get new springs. I have 185/60/13 tires, and it seems like the chassis is on the ground more than it isn't.

I have RB springs & Tokiko hp shocks on my 81 7. Lowered about an inch. RB sways made a huge difference in cornering. ST springs & Tokiko Illumina shocks in the Z. I like the adjustible feature of the Illuminas.

See sig: My rears rub a little over big bumps, like speed bumps and such but not in normal driving. Just can be a little bone jaring over these Maryland roads sometimes.

I've got the exact same setup, RB Springs and KYB GR-2s all the way around, and I love it. Perfect balanace between performance, looks, and comfort. You can *really* feel the road with them, but you don't get jostled and bruised by it.
