Is it supposed to do this?

I find when i floor it in my car the car acclerates fine and revs quickly, then when it hits about 3500 or 4000 rpms it pauses for a second and slightly bogs then continues going. Why does it do that when my secondaries open up? I baby my car everywhere so when i do end up flooring it to get somewhere in traffic it takes that pause and it really annoys me. so do i just suck it up or is something wrong?

Sounds kind of like the secondaries are either initially dumping too much fuel or not enough fuel. I'd make sure the secondary jets aren't clogged

Does your car have vaccum secondaries? Search the archives for sterling carb and then go read his instructions on modifying the secondaries / accel pump.

The problem you are having is not uncommon, and can be fixed with patience.
