Supercharger Questions
Okay, so I know that supercharging a 7 is sort of looked down on (lower power as opposed to turbo/cost effectiveness), and I get it. But I'm going to pursue it anyway because it offers me greater drivability and fixability. I just wanted to run a few ideas past the gurus to see if this setup would work.

I'm going to get the motor rebuilt at pineapple racing, so they will take care of oil mods and **** like that, but does this sound like a good template?

I understand the reasoning of the Camden Supercharger. The amount of fabrication is much less then a turbo setup. If one was restriced with resources, a simple bolt on supercharger would be much easier and have a much shorter project time. The supporting mods would also be less, considering the power output and induction.
I obviously understand total project projection. My REW swap will be close to $15k, alot of fabrication, and a few years of work. If someone wanted to sacrifice total power for the few advantages of the SC setup, then I can see where they are coming from. I considered this route for a long time, but 450whp just has a nice ring to it.

yeah, I know a turbo would yield more power than a supercharger, but XLR8 hit the nail on the head. I'm sort of low on cash (in terms of building a car), and I'm more interested in the low and mid range torque a charger would give me as opposed to the mid/high range hp. I just wanted to know if this setup that I mentioned in the first post would be feasible.

If you are looking at getting low to mid range power, a mega bridgeport is the wrong way to go. It shifts the powerband to mid and upper range. A nice aggressive streetport or *maybe* a half bridge. I would totally go the supercharged route because hey, who doesn't like the sound of that blower screamin at them?
I remember Atkins old site had a few power #'s. They posted 276hp from a 7" on a 13B. The current Camden site has no hint of dyno charts, only claims for the S4 EFI setup.
Let me start by saying i only know so much about supercharging 7's. First i deff would just go with the 7in camden if anything, bridge porting would be really good for it because i have seen a lot of people do it right. Why not try it with some ITB's? Also you may want to do a standalone to get the most of everything. Im really bad at trying to type/explain everything online but if you do a little searching theres been a a few successful bridge ported superchargers that run awesome from a dead stop to WOT. Good luck with it, sounds like your getting the basic ideas.
