I recently purchased an 84 rx7 rolling chassis that's wired for a 12a (I'm not sure how the fc, fd, gsl stuff works or the series for that matter) but I was wondering if it's possible to remove the awkward crank mechanism that opens the sunroof and replace it with a simple clip pop up. Also could the sunroof be replaced with glass?

Believe it or not the original (79) RX7 roof WAS a pop-up-to-open. That, as they say, was the Good News, cause if you wanted to then REMOVE the panel, the methodology was, er, Byzantine to be kind. Thus the "improved" crank version...
That said I guess if you were handy with fabrication "something" might be possible. It would prob mean modding the roof panel AND the roof itself. Speaking as a fellow cranker… is it really THAT bad?
Glass panel: yup, for sale all over ebay, prob here too. But even tougher to modify since its, well, all glass…
Sorry can't be more helpful.

Thanks a lot for the help, it sounds like a lot more work than I figured it would be so I might stick with it.
