Considering how stiff the 1st gen chassis is, they may not be beneficial enough to justify the added weight. Don't know for sure but that may explain why none have ever been offered. Give it a go and see what you come up with. I was considering trying to tie the rear suspension points together but after spending some time under the car I noticed that there wasn't much room to make a proper bar.

Fox bodied cars were notoriously flexible and in dire need of such strengthening, while the FB is a very stiff car for its era, jack up one corner and three wheels will go up. As stated if you can show a considerable strengthening increase without a significant weight increase.

What im hopeing to gain is not siffness but more stability, as was stated when you jack up one corner three wheels come off the ground.

Im hopeing that adding the cross between the frame rails will reduce the sway of the metal structure, "reduceing the sag time that it takes to get siad 3 wheels in the air".

When the snow melts i will test the car for any noticable change in body roll, and also the cornering factor's for the general feel.

And ill be useing carbide steel for the cross bar but the braket wich mounts to the frail rail will be mild steel to maximize the effect i will weld the bracket to the rail. and have a dissconct for the bar so i can properly test this. As for weight each bar will add about 7lbs, im puting 5 bars on my car so 35-40 lbs. not much more then a full backpack of a college student.

little confused on your setup. most mustangs i have seen have two bar's that connect the front to the rear. some have a x in the middle where the all meet at a drive shaft hoop

Actually I think this is one of the shortest winters lately. We were spoiled up until this month. The snow could hardly stick around for a full week. Now they are saying **** like "Cold Snap" on the weather channel, and I laugh. It's not a cold snap, it's February.

yah here its been snow and rain snow and rain.

i did take my GSL out in december for a mile drive when the roads were dry but cant anymore.

Yes the idea is not to go front to back like the mustang.
Its to go side to side like the cross over style, just adding more stability. i might try to work in to be a tranny mount but ill have to see this weekend when i fab and install it.
