stupid sh*ts

well, wasn't this a fun way to end to the nite...

Im coming home from work and so naturally I am pushing the car to the limit (like any good person) when I catch these guys in a 4 door nissan. ok, whatever, ill pass them after the turn. Apparently, the driver doesn't like the way I pass him so he takes off after me with his brights on like an idiot so I figure that he is just some dumass and flip the rearview mirror so it does nothing. Pul up to the stop light, the ******* gets out of his car, comes over to mine, punches the window, (surprised it didn't break, and start yelling to get out of the car and fight him. I a. didnt have a bat, and b. didn't feel like taking on 4 guys, so I am putting up my hands like im sorry (and look the part) finally he says get outta my sight (or something like that i wasn't stupid enough to put down the window) and proceds to follow me for 5 more minutes and leaves. Needless to say, I wont go to sleep for a awhile now. Its just ******** like him that make me want to carry a bat/ knife/ gun so I can just get on with life.

That sucks. You did the right thing though. Fennix is right. It probably wouldn't hurt to have something in the car in case someone tried to pull you out. It could have gotten ugly if he broke the window.

Since you're in TX, get a CHL license and you'll be able to deal with the situation correctly next time...same scenario happened to a guy but the offender was some 300 lb idiot who came up to the car and punched the driver while he was still strapped in the car because he wouldn't get out, either....after three or four punches to the head from the 300 lb. Samoan, he drew his gun and fired out the window....killed the guy right there....went to a Grand Jury and was thrown out because he had his CHL license and he told them he felt his life was threatened...that is now a CHL precedent case....you're also doing the planet a favor, to boot....

Well, living in Texas has taught me alot of laws

1.) Its illegal to carry a bat in your car, for protetion. You must have a glove, or a base ball......

2.) Self defence all the way!

Latas!

I will always carry protection, you dont know what happens....

Crap like this is why I carry a 20 inch long breaker bar behind the driver seat.. perfectly tapered at the socket end to not slip out of my hand, and the handle part is knurled, to leave a lasting impression..

At the risk of getting flamed, I see a ton of these posts coming from Americans. "Im a confrontation? Grab a weapon and beat the crap out of the guy". (a) What happens if he yanks the weapon away from you? Now he's pissed AND armed. (b) what happens if you strike him and inadvertantly (at least that's what you'll plea in front of the judge) snap his vertebrae and paralyse or kill him, or break off his Zyphoid Process and impale his upper intestine, causing him to die a few hours later, or...

I think you get the point. I've been in everything from bar brawls to shootouts. The irony is I was in the shootouts as a Peacekeeper as part of an effort to stop armed violence from spreading to within my countries borders.

Confucius once stated "if you wait by the river long enough, the body of your enemy will come floating by". In other words, the karma reaper has his way of sorting things out. But when citizens are bent on destroying each other, your country rots from within while your enemies sit back and smile.

You fall to the center of the car as you squeeze the trigger...he's not getting the gun from you, then...GUARANTEED...

I have The CLUB on my passenger seat but rarely use it on my Mazda/ Formuling steering wheel. If ever needed it becomes 2 pieces of flailing steel to any would be assailants. Hmm...I have thought about keeping pepper spray in the car.

So you fall to the center. You hit, and you're a murderer (killing someone for punching your window?) or you miss, then it's game on. He pulls out his gun (since the NRA encourages y'all ta have one) and...

Speaking as someone who's been in the ****, I recommend avoidance. Instead of squeezing a trigger, sqeeze your gas pedal and drive away from the loser instead.

i dont believe in waiting for karma... it takes too long and in most cases it never even catches up with the guy... i dont like the idea of having a knife only because im scared to be stabbed myself... but everyone has there choice on what protection they want... and about karma again... what good is it gonna do if you got yer *** kicked and maybe you couldnt walk again... or you were dead because you didnt have the right tools for protection

Okay, think of it this way. Toronto and Detroit, right across the lake from each other, have similar populations. Yet Detroit has over 20 times as many shooting deaths per year (home invasions, carjacking, mistaken identity, etc.) Why? Because they shoot first and ask questions later in Destroyit, whereas Toronto has gun laws. You get into a fight in TO, punches fly and the next day one of you feels bad. You get into a fight in Detroit, someone dies. There's no 'reset' button like on all those crappy first-person-shooter games. They're dead. Ever seen someone shot? Want to know how much counselling you have to go through after getting some 17 year old's brains all over you because you blew his head apart?

I agree with Manntis.

Those guys in the Nissan were retardedly stupid, but that doesn't mean it's ok to seriously hurt anyone.

Obviously exercise self defense if needed, but couldn't you just screech your tires and drive your car away from the incident rather than shooting someone who may have had a bad night and made a one time mistake? Why take the most aggressive response when simple exit would leave you safe and sound?

To get a CHL, you have to prove field competency and target hitting proficiency...a guy situated in your tiny little rex window is going to get nailed by one of the 17 rounds....

Grow up Mar.

There's enough people getting killed in this world for no reason as it is, without encouraging additional trigger-happy foolishness.

If you can pull the trigger on somebody for banging on your car window, I've got zero respect for you.

I wonder what Sterling would do?

If someone came banging on my window, I would spin it around, and go chikin huntin'!

But if you carry a glock, you might as well use it and get away with it!!!!

Peace

in texas you can carry a rifle in your car as long as it is in plain sight (not sure what kind of magazine capacity limits there is). you gotta be at least 18 though. the gun can be loaded, chambered, with the safety off, if you are that dumb. you can blast someone if you are in fear of your life. if someone comes up to your car and hears/sees you jack a 12ga. he probly wont stick around to see whats gonna happen. i carry a 12ga. in my truck sometimes, it is legal (i am only 18) and can easily be handled with a pistol grip and the shortest barrel that is legal. just keep in mind if you have been drinking and you get pulled over w/ a gun it is a bad scene. and use the gun as a last resort.
i have had people **** with me on the roads but no one has ever got out of thier car, you are liable to get shot doin some stupid *** **** like that in houston.

How many of you have made a mistake, maybe when you were younger in high school... maybe you overreacted to something you thought someone did toward you... and maybe you came off too aggressive towards them, in retrospect?

Anyone ever banged on a car window when maybe you shouldn't have?

I have, for one.

Do you think it would have been nice if the other person had killed you for it?

No offense, but you should think ******* twice about your ethics. Show some damn compassion for your fellow man. The world doesn't need attitude like that, it has more than enough of it. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
