Stupid Question - FI

Alright,

Are our car's FI (GSL-SE's) controlled mechanically or computer? If it's computer I've got a guy who can tune our cars.

The custom gauge faces guy never got any clusters so I'm going to have to send them my self for you people...ungrateful sometimes I swear.

EFI.Pretty standard metered air type electronic fuel injection. The only oddity with rotary EFI is on the 86 and later engines which use staged primary and secondary fuel injectors. The GSL-SE just has 2 primary injectors, and thats it.Also unique to the SE,its computor only controls fuel delivery, the spark is provided by a conventional distributor.

i would have to say, the gsl-se's EFI or EGI if you want to get technical, is one of the simplest ELECTRONIC fuel injection setups known to man

But the ECC does control it? This is great news! This means we might potentially now have custom burnt chips for our cars now!

I dunno. While not fully electronic, old VW CIS is pretty simple.
And who can forget about mid-late 80's GM TBI?Ive got that on my Samurai's 2.8L V-6,its a pretty basic and reliable system.

Its not a "chip" type ECU.

Crap,

So there's no way to tune the octane rating or anything like that in the car?

What kind of ECU is it?
