FL Stupid FB Tranny Swap Question

Hey Guys,

I have an 81 GSL with auto Tranny, and im in the middle of swapping out to a manual from an 84. Got all the parts I should need (Thanks Alfajeffrey)

I just got the Automatic flexplate and Counterweight off the engine, now Im ready to put on my 81 Manual Flywheel and begin working on the clutch, etc.

Here is my stupid question:
Does the Manual need to use any type of Counterweight? or was that only for the Auto?

It's part of the flywheel.

yeah, the counter weight is sorta built-in to the stock flywheel so u will have to remove that counter weight to install the stock one for manual. if u can stand the extra cost, the best option would be to get a light flywheel since u already have the counter weight.

Yes I tapped in a pilot bearing and pilot bearing seal. I'm bummed though b/c when I went to fit the throw out bearing, I found that the throwout bearing shaft had cracked off the inside of the tranny bellhousing. Now I have more to fix
