Stuck rear calipers

I started on the breaks on my gsl that I got after spending yesterday putting everypiece of interior back in. The e-brake was stuck, I can disengage the handbreak and it won't even roll down my driveway. So I take off my rear tires, take off the calipers to check out the pads which are in good condition. But the piston in the calipers will not go back in. I crack open the little 8mm drain bolt and try to turn the piston back in clockwise and it won't budge. I was just killing myself trying to do it with a pair of plyers (they don't slip at all) but it just won't budge. Could I just take apart the caliper and clean it then put it back together? Or is there an easier way to solve a stuck caliper?

You have to get a tool that spins the caliper piston as well as pushes it in. That's the only way to get it back in. You're gonna have to bleed the brakes now that you popped the bleeder screw loose.

I just rebuilt my rear calipers. For lack of a better tool, I just clamped them to a table and used needle nose pliers - The pistons came out without too much trouble. If you haven't yet, clamp them down and then use both hands with the pliers (push in and turn at the same time to help prevent them from slipping). If they still wont move at all, chances are they are rusted stuck. I would say spray some PB Blaster in there but I dont know how it would react with the brake fluid...anyone? Once you get it apart, If the rust is bad you will have to replace the caliper and piston. If it's minor, you can sand/polish it off, get a rebuild kit (new seals and dust boot) and put it back together.

Cool

i dont know if its the same, but i bought a "cube" from pep boys to do the brakes on my lincoln lsc. basically you put a socket extension in it and spin the caliper back into the bore. the tool was pretty cheap and it had different sizes and spacing for different makes. hope i helped a little.
