Exclamation strange clunk when trying to turn her over...

ok my rx-7 is acting funny...when i try to crank her over she kinda skips a beat...like she jerks and stops cranking for a brief second or two. then resumes turning over. i have found that is i turn the distributor a bit left or right it will either aliviate the situation or make it much worse. i have never had this problem in any of my 5 rx-7 i have owned over the years... i just put the motor in and am running a holley setup. is it ignition problems or do i have internal problems. by the way it runs good once it starts. ( they always do no matter what's wrong) any ideas or help would be much appreciated. Oh yeah i have 4 rx-7 right now 3 1st gen and 1 second so if you need parts i probably have them... email me at rrtec81@aol.com

thanks for your input.

Sounds to me like timing too. Check to make sure your T1 and T2 plug wires are going to the correct plugs.
