Strange [electrical] problem

So my car is running fine after the clutch job, with one minor problem that I just noticed last night. If I put the car in reverse, the reverse lights come on, but when I take it out of reverse they stay on. If I move the gear lever in between fifth and reverse a couple times, they go off eventally. Anybody got any ideas? I believe I did all the wiring on the trans correctly.

Sounds like the reverse switch on the tranny is sticking. Check it and it's wiring.

Do I have to drop the trans again to do this? I remember three wiring points on the trans. One was a big plug with several wires on it, one was the speedometer gear, and the other was two platic connectors. I assumed the last was the reverse switch...but I don't see how it could be damaged?

May not be damaged, may be sticking, pull it out and check it. Don't need to drop the tranny.
